Dr. Max de Salis, BEng Hons PhD CEng FIOA

Director / Principal

Max is a multi-award winning acoustic consultant (including 4 Association of Noise Consultants (ANC) Awards and a John Connell Award).  He joined the PDA Group in May 2004 having previously accrued more than ten years of experience in acoustic consulting and research in the UK and Australia. During this time he has provided acoustic design services for numerous domestic and international projects including designs for leisure, educational, residential, commercial, retail, research and healthcare facilities.

Max has also provided noise and vibration assessment and design services for several surface and subterranean rail and road projects and structure-borne noise control design for land and water-based craft. He has wide experience in industrial acoustics including environmental impact assessment and noise control design, workplace noise assessment, product development and undertakes a significant amount of work as an expert witness.

Max holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Building Services Engineering, the IOA Diploma in Acoustics, and a PhD in Acoustics. He is a chartered engineer and has published numerous conference and journal papers in the fields of acoustics and vibration. He is a past member of the Australian Acoustic Society and a current Fellow of the UK Institute of Acoustics.
