Can anyone carry out sound testing?

Sound testings or sound insulation testing needs to be carried out by an experienced consultant who is accredited or registered with the appropriate body. This means that the acoustic consultant you select to conduct sound testing on your UK development or property needs to be ANC registered or UKAS accredited. Sound testing needs to be carried out on new or refurbished buildings to demonstrate compliance with the Approved Document E or equivalent standards for building design and development. Why is sound testing important?

Apart from the need to comply with Part E of the Building Regulations and the Approved Document E standards, sound testing is important to ensure that the space you have created is suitable for the purpose for which it will be used.
